Tarangire Safari Lodge (Tarangire)
Standard Lodging (Pricing between $90 - $190 per person)
Built on top of a high bluff with a breathtaking panorama, the Tarangire Safari Lodge is superbly located in Tarangire National Park, providing one of the best views in Africa.

Carving out the landscape below the lodge is Tarangire River, a favourite watering place, which attracts impressive numbers and variety of game. The scene unfolds before you while lounging on the outdoor patio, allowing you to appreciate Tarangire's diverse wildlife without ever leaving the lodge.

At the heart of the lodge are the impressively high thatched roofs of the lounge and dining room. The open-sided design allows an uninterrupted view of the landscape and wildlife below, and captures the cooling breeze while you dine on our delicious home cooked safari cuisine.

The lounge area has oversized armchairs made from old Zanzibari dhow boats, which make a perfect place to relax in the evenings. Those wanting something a bit more active can take a dip in the pool, a bird walk around the lodge grounds or hunt for souvenirs in the Baobab boutique.

The luxury twin tents combine the authentic safari atmosphere of ‘nights under canvas’, with more modern comforts of electric light and en suite bathrooms with hot water. The lodge also has bungalows that provide the space and convenience of solid walls yet blend into their surroundings by using local stone and echoing the traditional round Maasai huts.

Rhino Lodge (Ngorongoro Crater)
Standard Lodging (Pricing between $90 - $190 per person)
Rhino Lodge is a new and unique property which offers something refreshing within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It opened in September 2007, and rather than being a luxury lodge for tourists it is actually a very simple lodge aimed mainly at local Tanzanians.

At all times, international visitors can only occupy half of the lodge and the rest is reserved for Tanzanian citizens. The lodge was built in conjunction with the local community and has the ideology for making the Crater accessible to those who might not usually be able to stay in any of the other lodges in the area.

The result is a simple lodge that offers plenty of atmosphere, and is a great value place to stay in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The main lodge is built with solid stone walls which are a muted green from the outside, and white-washed on the inside. The floors are highly polished stone and the furniture is simple comfortable sofas or wooden tables and directors' chairs.

The rooms at Rhino Lodge are all situated in a terraced row, around an outside courtyard. In front is a long wooden terrace which faces out into the dense forest on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The rooms are simple, with tiled floors, white washed walls and comfortable beds. Bed throws and curtains made from Maasai blankets add a touch of style, however the rooms still remain quite functional.

The en-suite bathrooms are again quite simple, but spotlessly clean and freshly decorated. There is a hot-and-cold shower, flush-toilet and a sink. There is also a UK-style plug socket in the wall.

Crater Forest Tented Camp (Ngorongoro Crater)
Standard Lodging (Pricing between $90 - $190 per person)
The lodge is operated as an eco-friendly small scale lodge with 15 tented rooms, all on platforms with magnificent views over the Ngorongoro Forest.

The rooms are spacious and all have ensuite bathrooms with hot showers and toilets. For those chilly upland nights enjoy the warmth of your own African-style firepot. Wake up to the sounds of the awakening forest as a night full of nocturnal wildlife activities gives away to mistily rising sunlight.

Complementary coffee and tea are served on your veranda in the morning. Enjoy the refreshing beverage in the early morning light as you prepare for another day full of your activities of choice.

Features include mosquito nets, bathrooms with showers, flush toilets, restaurants, lounges and more.

Ngorongoro Farm House (Ngorongoro Crater)
Standard Lodging (Pricing between $90 - $190 per person)
The Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge is a lovely lodge just outside of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Set in 750 acres of private farmland, it is comfortable, well laid out and has some lovely views across the farm and across to Oldeani Volcano. The Farmhouse Lodge opened in 2003, and since then has been offering good value accommodation and is a great base for visiting both the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park.

The lodge is still a fully functional farm – they grow their own wheat and the organic garden produces a lot of the vegetables used in the food. The farm is also home to cows, pigs and sheep.

Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge also has the feel of a farmhouse - as you arrive at the lodge, you are greeted with large, open grassy lawns which stretch across to the main areas.

Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge actually has 51 rooms (big by our usual standards), although when you're there, it feels much, much smaller. This is because the lodge is effectively divided into two parts – each with its own communal bar and lounge area, and set of rooms. (About 26 rooms each side!) This division helps maintain the atmosphere of a small and intimate lodge.

Serengeti Kati Kati Lodge (Serengeti - Central)
Standard Lodging (Pricing between $90 - $190 per person)
Kati Kati Camp is located in central Serengeti in northern Tanzania.

With 20 tents this is relatively large for a mobile camp. It tends to operate Dec/Mar and Jun/Oct, with guests being able to book in and out on a shared basis as they would a conventional lodge.

As with all mobile camps, the exact location is determined by the parks authorities, but Kati Kati Camp is generally located away from the core busy areas but within easy access of the best gameviewing.

Two to three nights is the usual stay duration, with the second full day providing the chance to venture further afield should the game have wandered.

Lobo Wildlife Lodge (Serengeti - North)
Standard Lodging (Pricing between $90 - $190 per person)
Lobo Wildlife Lodge was first built in 1968 and was run by the government until two years ago. The old-fashioned, stone structure of the building has effectively remained unchanged since being under new management. The lodge has been built in and around the volcanic rocks of the distinctive Lobo Kopje, in the northern Serengeti. It's a mixture of jumbled, rounded rocks – some boulders the size of a hand, others the size of a small tower block.

Lobo Wildlife Lodge is one of few lodges in the Serengeti National Park to have really excellent views – and there are several viewpoints here where you can watch the sun rising and setting, and get a really amazing view over this undulating corner of the northern Serengeti.

Lobo Wildlife Lodge is a large lodge, with 75 rooms. All of these are fairly monotonously placed in a number of square, box-like adjoining blocks. The layout of Lobo Lodge means that all of the rooms are directly next to one another and down long, white painted corridors which are often open on one side.
